Candover Brook Rosé NV

Vibrant, elegant and refined.

Who doesn't enjoy some sparkling pink fizz? It's become very popular from here in the UK and ours is from our single vineyard, nestled in the heart of our regenerative farm in Hampshire. They say that things that grow together, go together and we think this works a treat with Chalk Stream trout!

Tasting Notes

Our maiden release is a vivid pink hue with lively aromas of fresh strawberry, cranberry and toasted brioche. On the palate, creamy mouthfeel and a bold mousse are tempered by the wine’s mouth-watering acidity and vibrant purity of fruit.

Harvest

Our non-vintage rosé is made up of 85% from the stunning 2018 vintage, and the remainder from a reserve wine that is kept in a solera system dating back to 2011. The blend is 54% Chardonnay, 33% Pinot Noir and 13% Pinot Meunier. This is made by what the French term, assemblage, essentially based on a white wine with some red wine added for colour. Aged in bottle for over 36 months for its second fermentation at least before a further 6 months on cork, nothing is rushed.

Rare Crayfish at Candover Brook

Candover Brook is named after the chalk stream that runs through our valley. Chalk streams are almost uniquely English, and our chalk soil is the key defining element of our vineyard’s topography. The Candover Brook is one of the few remaining habitats of the rare English white-clawed crayfish. Both the brook and its crayfish are celebrated in the design of our label. We donate 50p for every bottle sold via the website or within a 15-mile radius of the vineyard to support the project set up by HIWWT to preserve the white-clawed crayfish

What Other People Say...

"It's an accomplished rosé, with vibrant and perfumed, bright red berry fruit that bursts from the glass. On the evidence of this, Candover Brook is an exciting new name on the English wine scene.”Decanter Awards 2022, Silver

"This is one of the most stunning English rosés I have tasted and the super-smooth, incredibly pure fruit is mesmerising. I urge you to track down a bottle and raise as glass to this brave new label, as soon as you can!"Matthew Jukes for Vineyard magazine

Perfect celebration!

We were delighted to serve Candover Brook Sparkling Rose to 140 appreciative guests at Rambert School’s 100th anniversary drinks reception. The lively, fruity, and intensely pink sparkling wine was the perfect accompaniment to our celebratory occasion. With the ever-growing popularity of English sparkling wine (wonderful for the carbon footprint) Candover Brook is a must.
